I was born in 1961, stepping into a country being run by a generation that was rolling up its sleeves and preparing to launch Canada into its post-centennial incarnation. Those in charge of the world I entered were products of the world they’d grown up in. Their pre-centennial stories reach into Centennial Canada like tendrils, informing our contemporary stories.
